Shorebird Series:
"Sanderling in Late Afternoon Sun"
Cape May, NJ (Oct)
Sanderling are one of several
small shorebirds often seen scurrying around ocean beaches just between
the breaking waves. They feed on tiny crustaceans and mollusks
left exposed by the waves. This fellow took a break to do some
preening in the late afternoon sun and calm water. These birds
usually look more gray, but the gold tone of the light alters
appearances. Shot on Provia-F film at ISO
200 with an 840mm lens at f5.6 and 1/400sec.
Will be available is sizes up to 11x14.
