Osprey Series -- "Command Post"
Blue Cypress Lake, Vero Beach, FL
For general interest, the Osprey
belongs to a single subfamily (pandioninae) composed of only one wide
spread species. Anatomically it has links to both falcons and the
accipitrine family of hawks and eagles. Its talons are uniquely
designed for fishing.
This bird strikes an especially strong pose. The old bleached tree
branch made a great perch from which to scout the lake and several birds
in this series were shot here. The film was Fuji Provia-F (RDP-III);
600mm lens at f-4.0 and 1/250sec.
Prints are available in sizes up to
16x20.
Edition limit is 30 prints 8x10 and larger.
