Flight Series: "Gliding Heron"

Great Blue Heron  at South Venice, FL

A another variation on the flying heron theme, this time in a beautiful full spread glide.  This is a case where the rich green foliage reflections in the water make a great backdrop for the gray-blue feathers. The result makes for a very calm scene. On Provia-F film at ISO-100 with a 400mm lens at f5.6 and 1/250sec.
