Great Blue Heron  at South Venice, FL 

This great blue was about to land at a nest on the island rookery. The fully cupped wings were quite spectacular.  Also note the pattern on the inner wing - the shadow of the bird's head. 
This image is an enlargement of a partial frame and therefore can only be printed well in smaller sizes. Shot on Provia-F with a 400mm lens at f-9 and 1/300sec.

Available in sizes 5x7 and 8x10 only.
Edition limit is 30 prints 8x10.
