Egret Series -- "Reddish Egret"
Reddish Egret at Ding Darling
National Wildlife Refuge, FL
This bird displays the breeding plumage
colors in the lores and bill area and full head feathers. In their
search for fish, these birds often dance around in the water with wings
raised -- putting on a beautiful show. I was too far away to
capture this, but the stationary pose shows the colors well. Velvia film at
ISO-50 with a 1680mm lens at f-11 and 1/160sec. (cropped 50%)
