Great Egret

Great Egret in breeding plumage with full cape plumes
and green lores. This bird is doing a display ritual which starts
with the neck and head lowered. It then raises up throwing the
head back with a great arch of the neck and a fanning of the plumes on
the back. This is repeated many times and is truly stunning. Another
view is shown in the previous image. Provia-F film at ISO 100 with
an 840mm lens at f5.6 and 1/320sec.
