Egret Series -- "Snowy Display"

Fisherman's Pier on Sanibel Island, FL

Brilliant display from a snowy egret with fully raised head feathers. This display was in response to proximity of another bird to a food supply.  In this case the food was a quick grab from a fisherman cleaning the daily catch at a stand on the pier. The point: the best place to photograph fish eating birds is where the fish are easiest for them, i.e., where there are (kindhearted) fisherman. Fisherman's pier at Sanibel is a great place for this, especially in the afternoon with low sun and a mild west wind. 
Shot on Gold 200 film with a 300mm lens at f-4 and 1/1000sec; +1 compensation.     

Prints are available is all sizes up to 18x24.

Edition limit is 22 prints 8x10 or larger.
