Welcome This is Douglas Goodell's photo site featuring birds and related nature scenes. I must apologize that this site, while showing some of my older images, is very out of date -- because it has been too hard, given a busy schedule, to manage new additions. My Facebook page has more recent recent material. The section on Shows and Talks is reasonable up-to-date. The purpose of my work is to
celebrate birds and the wonders of nature. The images are presented in galleries,
arranged mostly by species type.
What's New highlights new works as they are
added to the site and galleries; a few favorites
are shown separately. Note that space is limited, so not all images are shown here. If you are looking for something in particular
that is not in the galleries, or have comments, please contact me. Many of the images presented here are available for purchase as limited edition fine-art prints, and several size options are possible. Boxed note cards are also available based on a few of the images. These are outlined in the prints section. In addition to nature photography for fine art prints, I started working, in 2001, with Jim Wright and Jerry Barrack developing books on nature. The first book was In the Presence of Nature: Celery Farm Natural Area in Allendale, NJ to which I was a contributor. It was published in 2003 by Camino Books, Inc of Philadelphia, PA. Between 2002 and 2005 we worked in rainforests of Belize and Guatemala preparing material for Jungle of the Maya which was published by The University of Texas Press in late 2006. This work expended my activities to many other types of wildlife and nature photography. In 2005 we published Duck Enough to Fly, a story for children about wood duck chicks taking their first big step into the world.
